Spray foam insulation can be used to insulate nearly residential or commercial structure. There are 2 main types of spray foam insulation, open cell spray foam insulation and closed cell spray foam insulation.
Residential Structures
Open cell spray foam insulation is used in most residential applications, attic, floor, roof and internal walls.
Open cell spray foam insulation expands to over 200 times its size filling every nook and cranny creating a continuous airtight seal. This prevents heat escaping reducing your heating bills while also allowing water vapour to escape.
Commercial Structures
Closed cell spray foam insulation is used to insulate commercial or industrial structures. It is easy and fast to apply and like open cell spray foam fills every nook and cranny but unlike open cell spray foam it hardens when applied preventing both air and water to escape.
Closed cell spray foam strengthens the structure its applied to helping reduce the caused by high winds and storms. One of the most popular reason for applying closed cell spray foam insulation on concrete and metal roofs and walls is the moving of the dew point from the inside of the structure to the outside. This helps prevent the dripping effect which annoy humans and can damage stored goods.
There are many reputable companies that provide spray foam insulation in Wicklow. We have partnered up with some SEAI certified spray foam insulation contractors. They provide both open cell spray foam insulation and closed cell spray foam insulation.
